"...a unique atmosphere"

Woodlawn's 61-acre campus offers students a unique, scenic atmosphere which enhances their learning experiences. The southeastern quarter of the campus contains the historic Woodlawn home, as well as the two original classroom buildings (renovated in 2002 from the home's outbuildings). A third classroom building, Klein Hall, was constructed in 2003, and a fourth, Jackson Hall, was completed in 2005. These classrooms are an interesting blend of old and new - offering views of Woodlawn's historic grounds while providing wireless, high-speed access to the internet. A barn built in 1910 still stands on the eastern edge of the campus, while the remainder of the property is forested, with a small stream flowing east toward the Rocky River. This natural setting provides some unique investigative opportunities, such as our joint projects with the Biology department of Davidson College.

master plan

Woodlawn Master Plan In 2002, Woodlawn partnered with MBAJ Architecture to create a master site plan for the campus. In 2006, we updated this plan with architects from Adams and Associates in Mooresville. The plan includes multiple classroom buildings, a library, dining hall, gymnasiums, auditorium, and athletic fields. Woodlawn takes pride in maintaining its historic buildings and grounds. Our campus is sure to change in future years as we grow, but we will always strive to keep in harmony with Woodlawn's natural surroundings and historical legacy.
