Woodlawn students have adopted a section of Highway 115 just west of campus as part of North Carolina's Adopt-a-Highway program. This program is an effort to decrease the amount of litter on North Carolina's roadsides and improve the beauty and quality of the environment. In September, the 7th and 8th graders spent a morning picking up trash, as well as a few potential pieces for recycled art projects. In March, several of our 7th graders performed another cleanup, this time finding two cell phones and an elementary school worksheet from 1986.
