Centre Church Cemetary

On September 17, third graders visited the Centre Cemetery to view the grave sites of the original owners of Woodlawn Plantation. Students located the gravestones of George Stinson and his second wife Margaret Stinson fairly quickly. They enthusiastically took a rubbing of the headstones to add to their "100 Years Ago" book that they created during the first week of school. Two of the students were also able to locate and produce a rubbing of the headstone of George's first wife, Mary Stinson.
