On a hot August Saturday just before the start of the 2003-04 school year, twelve Davidson College freshmen visited our campus as part of their orientation week service project. Hailing from hometowns as far away as San Francisco, these students spent the afternoon freshening up the exterior of Woodlawn's original two classroom buildings - the Carriage House and Garden Shed. They also toured the Woodlawn plantation house (currently being renovated) and learned about the connection between the house's original owner and the College (George Stinson was Davidson College's first trustee). The students did a great job - we appreciate all of their hard work to help get our buildings ready for opening day.
