2003-04 Duke TIP Honorees

Archived Events

The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) identifies gifted children and provides resources to nurture the development of these exceptionally bright youngsters. To be eligible for the program, students must meet a minimum score requirement (typically 90th percentile or above) on a nationally-normed achievement or aptitude test. Duke TIP is composed of two separate programs - one for 4th/5th graders and one for 7th graders.

Six of our 5th graders were accepted into Duke TIP. They are: Sawyer Bowman, Byron Dollar, Rudy Molinek, Terin Patel-Wilson, Haley Sheafor, and Tirion Sheafor.

Seven of our 7th graders were eligible to enroll in Duke TIP. Several of them did so and took the SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test), normally given to college-bound high school juniors. Three of our students were recognized at the state level for their performance on the SAT, scoring at least 510 in the Verbal and/or the Math section of the test. They are: Elene Clemens, Austin Dollar, and Alec Sorensen.
