Woodlawn celebrated its first sports season by recognizing some outstanding athletes. Matt Sarett was honored as Most Valuable Runner for the boys cross country team. Matt had an outstanding season, leading the Trailblazers to an undefeated record and first place in the CIM Conference Championship. Along the way, he established the record for Woodlawn's 2-mile course (13:00) and captured individual honors in the conference championship race.

Jenna Sarett (twin sister of Matt) took home the Most Valuable Runner award for the girls team. Known for her lethal second-mile surge, Jenna garnered first place in two of the four regular season meets this year, and set our home course record with a time of 15:16. She placed 5th in the CIM Conference meet, helping her team earn runner-up honors in that event.
All of our runners took home a Woodlawn Cross-Country t-shirt and a DVD containing a video retrospective of the season. Thanks to Brixx Wood-Fired Pizza of Huntersville for providing the food for this luncheon.
