Local Author Michelle Groce Visits Woodlawn

Archived Events

Michelle Groce, author of the young adult novel Jasper, spoke at Woodlawn on Monday, Dec. 8. The talk, held in Klein Hall, was given to local book club participants and Woodlawn students (and our resident cat, Ollie). Jasper is the first published novel by Ms. Groce, who is a native of Nova Scotia and now resides in Cornelius with her husband and two cats, Ripley and Emily. To find out more about the author's background, visit her website.

Jasper is a stylish, fast-moving adventure about a cat who can see flashes - mostly ominous - of things to come. One part of him would like nothing more than to be a fat and lazy house cat, but his psychic powers always draw him back into action. Aided by his sidekick, Hank the owl, Jasper must learn to make the right decisions to resolve his dilemma.
