The MathCounts Regional Competition was held on Wednesday, February 11 at the Hickory Metro Center. 186 students from 28 schools attended the day-long math competition. Students competed in a series of tests as individuals and also took a team test. The Woodlawn representatives to the competition were 8th grader Sammy S., 7th graders Alec S., Austin D., and Tyler W., and 6th grader Matt S. Sammy led the team with an impressive 21st place individual finish. The competition was a great experience for Woodlawn's rookie team - they look forward to returning as seasoned veterans next year.
