Quilting Field Trip and Project

Archived Events

Middle school students attended American Quilt Classics 1800-1980: The Charles and Fleur Bresler Collection at the Mint Museum of Craft and Design to gain a deeper understanding of the history of quilt making in our country. See more info on the Mint's quilt exhibit. While at the Mint, they also had the opportunity to see the Jon Kuhn glass sculpture exhibition.

Upon returning from the exhibit, the students designed and created quilt squares inspired by the many natural wonders discovered by Lewis and Clark on their expedition across the west. The quilt will be donated to a worthy cause.
