The fifth grade traveled to Camp Thunderbird, just across the state line in South Carolina, in late May for two action-packed days. In addition to the zip line and alpine tower challenges, they took part in a wilderness survival class, played the role of an 1805 family settling in the Carolinas, and used a seine net to capture and examine some Lake Wylie inhabitants.
