Quiz Bowl Teams Take State Honors

Congratulations to our Quiz Bowl teams for their strong finishes in the 2004 NC Thinking Cap Quiz Bowl. Held in December for 7th and 8th graders, this competition features 100 multiple choice questions in a wide variety of disciplines - team members answer the questions as a group and are scored by computer. Teams are awarded bonus points based on how quickly they can arrive at the correct answer to a question.

Our 7th grade team of Katie D., Matt S., Jenna S., Eloise A., Kathleen E., and Olivia P. correctly answered 89 questions to return the 7th grade state title to Woodlawn for the second time in three years.

Our 8th grade team captured the runner-up spot in the state competition with a solid score of 1101. Team members included Curt B., Tyler W., Elene C., Beatrice D., Alec S., Kenzi H., and Austin D.
