Andry, Elkins Honored at End-of-Year Presentation

The fourth annual Stinson and Founders Awards were presented on June 8, 2006 at the traditional end-of-year gathering on the Woodlawn campus.

8th grader Eloise Andry won the George W. Stinson Award, given to the middle school student who exhibits the highest academic performance during the school year. Andry consistently carried a high "A" average in all of her classes, was an instrumental part of the state champion Knowledge Master team, and was selected to advance to the regional National History Day competition in the documentary category. She will be attending Portsmouth Abbey School in Rhode Island next year on a full academic scholarship.

8th grader Kathleen Elkins won the Founders Award, given to the middle school student who best exemplifies Woodlawn's ideals of respect, diligence, and character in the classroom and in extra-curriculuar activities. Elkins was a high-performing student in all of her classes and won most valuable athlete honors in both girls cross country and tennis this year. 2005 Founders Award recipient Katie Driest assisted in the presentation to Elkins.
