Another warm November afternoon produced some extremely fast times at Woodlawn as both the Trailblazer boys and girls teams came away with victories. The 2-year-old course record, set by former Woodlawn student Matt Sarett in 2004, was shattered by 2 different runners. Woodlawn's Sawyer B. led the race at the mile mark with a 5:55 split, and finished 12 seconds under the existing record at 11:57. But he could not hold off North Hills' Cole H., who put on a furious finishing kick to set a new record at 11:49. Woodlawn's Will R., John S., and Regan B. grabbed the 4th, 5th, and 7th places respectively to secure the win. In the girls event, Paulina C. again led the Trailblazers, who took 5 of the top 7 spots in the race to easily outdistance their opponents.
