Woodlawn, seeded #3 in the PAC-8 tournament, faced #6 seed North Hills in a first-round match at Woodlawn. The initial 30 minutes of the match was played mainly on the Trailblazer offensive end of the field, with quite a few shots attempted on goal. Late in the period, Bradford W. finally managed to get a shot past their goalie to give Woodlawn a 1-0 advantage.

Coach Sullivan's halftime pep talk must have been quite inspiring, as her team emerged on the field with a barrage of shots on goal. After several minutes of this onslaught, the opponent's defense broke down, and Bradford W. added two quick goals, followed by scores from Abbie W. and Clayton S. The team celebrated with a mini-Gatorade-bath for their coach as they looked forward to meeting #2 seed Statesville Montessori in two days.
