Students in grades 3-5 worked very hard to publish creative stories and illustrations for Charlotte Parent Magazine's Young Authors Book Writing Contest this year.
Congratulations to third grader Angus E. - he earned 1st place for the art in his children's books! There were over 500 entries this year and Angus' book was selected in the grade 2-3 category. Congratulations to Angus and all of our young authors!Second grader Amelia W. and third grader Megan D. were recognized for their artwork in the NC Zoo Endangered Species Poster Contest designed to increase awareness of our endangered species! Amelia won first place in Division One and Megan won a special recognition award for her poster. Second and third graders have been studying biomes of the world, and will be visiting the zoo this spring to observe animals in their habitats found on the continents of Africa and North America. Because of Amelia and Megan's awards, the class has been awarded a special program during their visit. |
