Reading with Children's Community School

"One kid really liked my book, he gave it six stars and it only goes up to five!"

This enthusiastic and proud feeling was shared by all the Woodlawn students on Tuesday October 29, 2002, after their visit to the Children's Community School. Woodlawn students authored and illustrated books pertaining to a recent subject that they learned and donated them to CCS. At the school, the older students read their books to the eager audience of first graders. The first graders then provided them with important feedback about their books. As it turned out, the books were a huge hit. The Endangered Ocean Animals was thoroughly enjoyed. Other books donated to the class were entitled The Sun, Constellations, Abe's Copper Adventure, The Four Great Rock Groups, and The Uses of Minerals. The older students were then awed by the reading of the first graders of their favorite books from reading groups. We look forward to getting together with our friends at CCS again soon!
