Schiele Museum Trip

Archived Events

While studying the Native American tribes of North Carolina, the third and fourth grade students took a field trip to the Schiele Museum of Natural History in Gastonia to learn about the Catawba Indians. Our guide took us through the different styles of simple shelters the Catawba tribe built and described their way of life. Back at school the students constructed small-scale models of a variety of simple shelters made by the Native American of North Carolina.
