Hickory Day scored quickly to take a 1-0 lead but was shut out for the remainder of the first half due to stellar performances by goalkeeper Charlie C. and defenders Will, Brad, Grace, and Davis. Aided by outstanding play from center-mid Zach L., team captain Logan F. scored near the end of the half to tie the game at 1-1. In the second half, fullback Michael C. and halfback Chris A. kept the ball on the attacking third of the field, allowing Zach L. to score off a nice assist from Collin B. About 10 minutes later, Hickory Day scored to tie the match again at 2-2. With time winding down, the Trailblazers mounted a furious assault on the opposing goal, culminating in Saxon W.'s beautiful shot from outside the penalty box to give Woodlawn a 3-2 win.
