At Woodlawn we try to ensure that we give back to our community, especially to those who need our help. Each year during the holiday season, student families donate funds in lieu of purchasing presents for staff and classmates. These funds are used to fund projects with (and donations to) our service learning partners, including the Humane Society of Charlotte, Urban Ministries of Charlotte, Raptor Center, and the Brian Center of Mooresville.

Woodlawn is a designated nonprofit, 501(c)(3) entity, so all donations and gifts to the school are tax deductible. As with all private schools, tuition alone does not cover the costs involved in operating the school. Beginning in 2003, two funds were established to help the school reach its financial goals. Additionally, we encourage gifts that are targeted to specific capital needs.

The Annual Fund allows Woodlawn parents and friends to participate in meeting the operational needs of the school. We try to avoid the myriad of fundraisers that families are often subjected to - instead we focus our fundraising efforts on 2 or 3 events per year.

trailblazer
fund

The Trailblazer Fund was established to provide needs-based assistance to Woodlawn students. The school earmarks 5% of each paid tuition for needs-based aid, but the Trailblazer Fund carries that mission further, allowing deserving students to attend Woodlawn. This effort serves to increase the diversity of our student body as well as its quality.
