Woodlawn Annual Fund

Annual giving is a critical element of ongoing fundraising at Woodlawn School that allows for philanthropic gifts to the school. A core aspect of the Woodlawn curriculum is service learning — teaching students how they can make a difference in their community and beyond. The Woodlawn Annual Fund is a way for parents to reinforce these values, creating an opportunity to discuss philanthropic support from the perspective of monetary gifts. Our Parent Volunteer Committee creates a similar link to philanthropic gifts of time and talents.

Woodlawn is making a concerted effort to change the role of the annual fund its yearly operating budget. Instead of using philanthropic dollars as a way to close the gap between tuition revenue and the cost of education, Woodlawn is committed to lowering its dependency on the annual fund and function entirely within its tuition and other operating revenue. Gifts to Woodlawn can be used as a means to enhance academic and extracurricular offerings and potentially to provide additional facilities. It is our goal that the Woodlawn Annual Fund provides resources to develop the best opportunities for both current and future generations of Woodlawn students.

A high level of participation in the annual fund is a strong indication of support for Woodlawn’s mission and can influence financial support from outside organizations. As Woodlawn continues to seek outside funding for its one-of-a-kind educational experience, 100 percent participation in the annual fund will help strengthen its ability to secure those resources.
