We believe in standardized extraordinary children

At Woodlawn, every student arrives extraordinary. Our job is to build the conditions where that shows through real work, real questions, and an education designed around who they’re becoming, not just what they’re learning.

Six Graduate Outcomes

We don’t teach to fit in.
We teach to stand out.

Every student at Woodlawn is extraordinary. Our job is to build the education that proves it. Six graduate outcomes define what a ‘Blazer becomes with every project, every question, and every year of school designed to get them there.

Advocacy

‘Blazers graduate knowing how to speak up for themselves, their ideas, and the people around them. Advocacy is learned through real stakes, real audiences, and real feedback.

Agency

Ownership of learning doesn’t start in college. At Woodlawn, students make meaningful choices about their work from the earliest grades building self-direction that compounds.

Awareness

Self-knowledge and global perspective grow together. ‘Blazers develop a clear-eyed understanding of who they are in relation to their community, their country, and the world.

Alliance

The most meaningful work in life happens with others. Students learn to build coalitions, navigate difference, and lead alongside people who think differently than they do.

Durable Skills

Critical thinking, communication, creativity, and collaboration are built through application, not instruction. These skills compound across a PreK–12 career.

Impact

‘Blazers don’t just participate, they contribute. A habit of action and a belief that their work matters is the throughline from their first project to their Senior Capstone.

Project-Based Learning

Impact over Imitation.
Wonder over worksheets.

Students here make work that carries their own signature. They build it, test it, and present it to real audiences, so every result reflects original thinking and real consequence. That is impact, and it has anchored a Woodlawn education since 2002. Project-based learning is how that happens. It is the entire structure of how learning works here, the way every subject moves from a question to a finished product that matters. The work is real and so is the outcome.

Outcomes at
every stage.

Each division is built around where students are developmentally with the same six outcomes at the center, and the same project-based method as the path.

EVERY ‘BLAZER LEAVES WITH A POINT OF VIEW AND THE CONFIDENCE TO USE IT.

My daughter didn’t just learn the fundamentals at Woodlawn. She learned who she is. By the time she graduated, she had a point of view, a work ethic, and a genuine belief that her ideas matter. I didn’t expect that from a high school.

Woodlawn Parent, Upper School

She didn’t just know the material. She knew what to do with it, how to argue for it, how to apply it, how to teach it to someone else. That’s the Woodlawn difference I saw immediately in her application.
